LODE : A Legal Ontology Development Environment

چکیده

This paper discusses how to construct a legal ontology using a general ontology that has already been developed and a case ontology that has been automatically constructed on the basis of precedent cases input by the user. In order to construct a legal ontology, we consider to nd out the best correspondence to given a legal concept in a general ontology and a case ontology. Furthermore, we concider to re ne a legal ontology based on the comparison of a legal ontology with a general ontology and a case ontology, called a static analysis. We have been implemented a software environment to help a user construct a legal ontology based on these methods. The empirical results have shown that the environment works well in the eld of Contracts for the International Sale of Goods.
